Since the arrival of the iPhone in 2007 and apps in 2008, mobile devices have become intelligent in a new sense that continues to evolve. The tools of a mobile device today have diversified and expanded, leaving behind the concept of programming and becoming a transversal space that allows actions and processes previously linked to other types of machinery. The case of audiovisual communication does not differ from the rest. The constant improvement of the capture characteristics of mobile devices and their use as a sales tool is an example of their potential. However, it's not just about the recording. The available universe of apps for audiovisual creation is expanding at the same speed and presents to all types of audiences the possibility of using applications to create audiovisually in all phases of a production. In this sense, it is necessary to generate a space for reflection regarding this situation. 

For this reason, based on the Apps4CAV research project of Learning, Media and social Interactions (LMI), the aim is to take a tour of two fundamental areas of the current situation:

- The characterization of the moving image typical of mobile technology and its presence in the audiovisual industry.
- The relationships that the university is establishing with the use of mobile devices and applications in and out of the classroom.
These blocks intend to open a debate where technological aspects are related to educational and creative innovation in the audiovisual field.
