Blockchain in Educational Methodologies.
Blockchain is a technology that records events through a distributed and recurring system, and its application for the certification of competencies or knowledge is transforming university teaching. Its implementation to try to solve some underlying problems of the educational system is in the process of develop- ment, but it has already generated two lines of personalization of training: one based on curricular itineraries a la carte and another based on global subjects adapted to each person.

Crypto-currencies have provided a technological solution that can change relevant aspects in the education system. Blockchains are being used for academic accreditations in what could mean a total turnaround of the system, merging formal and non-formal solutions into a single learning space. This article focuses on how Blockchains can allow for the accreditation of the path followed by each learner in an individualized learning process.

Making universal access to education compatible with different paths of learning is one of the great challenges of the last century. Technology has provided solutions to access information, for communication and collaborative work. Blockchain emerges as a technology that can be useful for the development of an evaluation model of individualized learning itineraries in mass university subjects.

February, 17th to 19th, LMI organizes a course for teachers of the University of A Coruña, named "Aprendizaxe individualizada gestionada con tecnoloxía" (Individualized learning managed with technology). This way, new professors are incorporated into the project of Adaptative learning with human vision, where paths are maintained with Blockchain.

The blockchain is a new technology that is breaking through in many fields, and also in the educational system. But it is not a specific technology which you can expect to improve a concrete situation: It is more a technology that allows registering events from an innovative form. And this can be translated into unsuspected changes. After presenting what Blockchain is and some examples of social uses, in the applications currently in use, there is an analysis of the problems to which the technology aims to answer.
